


The Māngere Historical Society was formed in 1982 to collect and preserve the history of the Māngere area: Māngere Bridge, Māngere Central, Māngere East, Middlemore, Favona, Ihumātao and Pūkaki.
Meetings
Meetings are held in the St James Anglican Church Hall, 31 Church Road, Māngere Bridge, 1.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month. All welcome.

The archive is open on demand. For research assistance phone Alan Bray on 09 636 6260 , or email aj.bray@xtra.co.nz. At present we are not accepting donations of papers and memorabilia for the archive.
Publications
The following books are available for sale: Celebrating Māngere Bridge (2005), Watea to Airport: A Community that Was (2005) and Gone but Not Forgotten [Māngere Hospital and Training Centre] (2010).
